The Port of Bellingham sought our services when they were faced with the daunting task of rehabilitating a former industrial waste water lagoon (Aeriated Stabilization Basin) into a LEED, sustainable Marina for recreational boating. The City of Blaine, WA, needed improved signage to notify travelers of available services adjacent to a highway access to the Canadian Border. Community members could not come together on a design idea. The Charrette process quickly produced a signage design concept that was universally accepted, and quickly built and installed.

The Kulshan Community Land Trust in Whatcom County, WA holds land in trust for permanently affordable homeownership and other community needs. They hosted a community charrette for a Planned Development Agreement for 28 affordable housing units in the Madrona and LaFayette neighborhood. This charrette with business owners, investors and consultants happened in one day, to help determine alternate applications for P2 Solar Solutions Solar Panel supports and arrays. It was determined that providing unique carport designs will allow access to prime solar real estate while giving a client other economic benefits. First client was a car dealership in California.
We worked with local Architects as part of the Bellingham Planning Group for the Bellingham Public Library. A library staff charrette helped create a functional building program and site utilization analysis, as well as a cost estimate for capital planning for the city bond measure.
