David E. Christensen AIA, LEED ap, has designed darn near one of every building type. So, he knows the rules-of-thumb for numerous buildings which is a huge advantage for facilitating design charrettes.
Prior to starting CDM, he has been involved in the design and planning of small and large scale retail, residential Resort, Institutional and Commercial projects for over 44 years. This includes Architectural Design with WATG (one of the largest Resort Hotel design firms in the world) and Callison, (One of the largest retail design firms in the world), for Corporate Office, Industrial Parks & Retail Environments including Regional Malls, Nordstrom stores and various national chain stores.
Design and Planning experience was paired with development management skills when Mr. Christensen was Vice President of Development for Trillium Corporation. This balanced his master planning skills with the realities of marketing and financial feasibilities. He has received over 44 national and regional design awards and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects, Urban Land Institute, National Association of Industrial and Office Parks, National Association of Homebuilders, Congress for New Urbanism and the American Planning Association.
Mr. Christensen has developed a national reputation and specialty in providing fast “Design Charrette” services for private & public clients. This process produces concept master plans and prototype building plans adequate to determine project scope and approximate development costs in an intensive, 2-5 day time period. This is especially valuable during short purchase option periods or capital planning to determine project feasibility, scope and budget.
CDM is currently masterplanning mixed use residential master planned communities and Urban Villages throughout the Northwest. Click on the Mr. Christensen’ resume to see more detailed information.
